Seiichi Hishikawa
Representative Director and President Art director and video and photographic creator
Born in Tokyo in 1969, Hishikawa began his career in the music industry at CBS Sony Group (currently Sony Music Entertainment) in the Administration Department. He was then temporarily transfered to Sony’s PR Department, where he assisted the production of numerous events at the Ginza Sony Building. Around the same time, he began handling exhibition designs for artists. In 1991 Hishikawa moved to New York, left the music industry for the video industry, and worked as video editing engineer and director. During this time, he was involved in a variety of video production work ranging from television to film. After returning to Japan, he worked freelance as a video producer, scenic designer, and space designer. He then participated in the launch of DRAWING AND MANUAL, which provided integrated design services combining graphic design and motion images. In the same year, he organized the “Motion Graphics Exhibition” at the Roppongi Axis Gallery. The exhibition consequently became a forerunner of the motion graphics movement. Despite being independently produced, the exhibition drew 45,000 visitors. Hishikawa continued to work as a leading motion graphics designer and launched his own design studio Standard Series in 2003. Standard Series handled not only video, web, and graphic design, but also brand design and design consultation. In 2009, he rejoind DRAWING AND MANUAL and was appointed professor of Visual Communication Design at Musashino Art University. In 2011, the NTT Docomo commercial he directed “Xylophone in the Forest” became a triple crown winner at the Cannes International Advertising Awards.

菱川勢一
代表取締役社長 ／ アートディレクター ／ 映像作家 ／ 写真作家
1969年東京生まれ。音楽業界からキャリアをスタート。株式会社CBSソニーグループ（現ソニー・ミュージックエンタテインメント株式会社）に入社。総務部総務課に配属。その後、ソニー株式会社広告宣伝部に出向。銀座ソニービルにてイベントなどを数多くプロデュースアシスタントを担当。また、この頃から現代美術作家やアーティストの展覧会の構成などを手がけ始める。1991年渡米。拠点をニューヨークへと移す。渡米と同時に音楽業界から映像業界へ転身し、映像の編集エンジニアと映像ディレクターを兼務。TV番組から映画製作まであらゆるジャンルの映像に関わった。帰国後、フリーとして映像演出、舞台演出、空間演出などの経験を積んだ後、グラフィックデザインと映像の複合的デザイン活動拠点としてDRAWING AND MANUALの設立に参画。同年、モーショングラフィックスムーブメントの先駆けとなるモーショングラフィックス展を六本木アクシスギャラリーにて開催、自主企画であるにもかかわらず延べ4万5千人を動員する。この後もモーショングラフィックス分野の第一人者として活躍する。2003年、自身のデザインスタジオとしてスタンダードシリーズ株式会社設立。これまで培った映像やWeb、グラフィックのほかブランドデザインやデザインコンサルテーションなどの領域へ拡げた。2009年、再びDRAWING AND MANUALに合流。2009年、武蔵野美術大学基礎デザイン学科教授に就任。2011年、監督を務めたNTTドコモのCM「森の木琴」がカンヌ国際広告賞にて三冠受賞したことは記憶に新しい。

Shin Sasaki Art Director
Born in Hokkaido in 1974, Sasaki worked as a film projectionist at Theater KINO, Japan’s smallest cinema, while a university student and projected numerous independent films of various formats ranging from 8mm to 35mm. In 1996, he moved to Britain, where he lived for a year. He joined Shitaoka Office as a designer after returning to Japan and handled the design of a Sapporo-based community magazine. At the same time, he worked as a member of the design team Extra Design and became associated with numerous designers around the world during the early days of the Internet. In 2000, three of the designers from Extra Design established 3KG, which was incorporated in 2004. The company expanded its business field in following with technological developments to include DTP, Internet design, and nonlinear editing. Sasaki handled video production for the animation program “Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi,” which was broadcast nationally in the U.S. in 2004. Sasaki has also been actively involved in non-design activities. He is a member of the Japanese planning committee for “onedotzero,” a London-based and globally traveling video festival and handles coordination and production of PR materials for its Japanese tours. In 2007, he joined D&DEPARTMENT out of a desire to expand his design perspective and opened its first franchise outlet in Sapporo in 2007. In 2008, he produced the iPhone/iPod touch-based guidance system for DESIGN BUSSAN NIPPON held at Matsuya Ginza. He was also involved in the production of the inaugural and Hokkaido-based issue of D&DEPARTMENT’s travel guide series “d design travel” and traveled all round Hokkaido with editor Kenmei Nagaoka. In 2010, he participated in DRAWING AND MANUAL as an outside director of D&DEPARTMENT’s media business department. He is currently a part time lecturer at Sapporo City University’s Design Department and planner of Sapporo Odori University.
佐々木 信 アート・ディレクター
1974年北海道生まれ。大学在学中に、日本最小の映画館、シアターKINO にて映写技師を勤め、8ミリから35ミリまでインディペンデントな映画を上映。1996年渡英し、翌年帰国。帰国後デザイナーとして株式会社下岡事務所に入社し、札幌のタウン誌をデザイン。同時に、デザインユニット extra design に参加し、インターネット創生期に、世界各地の同世代のデザイナーとの親交を深めた。2000年、デザイナー3名が集まり3KGを設立。2004年法人化。DTP、インターネット、ノンリニア編集など、技術革新の流れに乗り業務範囲を拡大。2004年に全米公開されたアニメーション番組「Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi」のローンチでは映像制作を担当。デザイン以外の活動にも積極的に参加。ロンドンを拠点に世界ツアーを行う映像フェスティバル onedotzero の日本開催では実行委員を勤め、コーディネートや日本ツアー用の広報物の制作を担当。デザインの視野を拡大したいと考え、2007年、D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT に参画し、フランチャイズ第一号店となる札幌店をオープン。翌年、松屋銀座で開催された DESIGN BUSSAN NIPPON では、会場で貸し出された iPod touch を使ったガイダンスの制作を担当。D&DEPARTMENT が発行するトラベルガイド「d design travel」の創刊号「北海道号」の制作に関わり、編集長ナガオカケンメイと北海道を駆け回った。2010年、D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT のメディア事業部外部ディレクターとして DRAWING AND MANUALに参加。札幌市立大学デザイン学部非常勤講師。札幌オオドオリ大学企画担当。
Tetsuro Tsuji Art Director
Born in Hokkaido in 1980 and raised in Saga, Tsuji graduated from the Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Musashino Art University and is involved in media art, sound art, and film production. In 2006, he joined Standard Series (currently DRAWING AND MANUAL). He has produced motion graphics and other content for numerous clients including Sony, Honda, Shiseido, and Yamaha. He provides comprehensive design direction based on his technology and media literacy. As personal projects, he has also handled production (design and programming) for experiential media art works and advertising installations for Toyota and Docomo, launched the music label moph record, and has been involved in supporting culture domain communities, such as libhub, a library for self-published art books.
辻 哲郎 アートディレクター
1980年、北海道生まれ、佐賀県出身。武蔵野美術大学映像学科卒業。メディアアートや映画制作、サウンドアートを駆使した活動している。2006年よりスタンダードシリーズ（現DRAWING AND MANUAL）にデザイナーとして参加。Sony、Honda、資生堂、YAMAHA、などのモーショングラフィックスなどを中心に制作。テクノロジー／メディアに関する豊富なリテラシーを背景にした総合的なデザインディレクションを行う。一方、個人的な活動として、体験型メディアアート作品やTOYOTA、docomoなどの広告インスタレーションの制作（デザイン／プログラミング）、音楽レーベル moph record の立ち上げ、セルフパブリッシング・アートブックのための図書館 libhubプロジェクトなど、カルチャードメインコミュニティを支える活動も多い。
Yusuke Kobayashi Art Director
Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1979, Kobayashi worked at Ralph Lauren after majoring in fashion design. He then began working in the music industry as a sound engineer, primarily for dance clubs and live music venues as well as concert tours and music festivals. Kobayashi continually experiments in and creates his own music in addition to supporting other musicians’ works. In 2006 he began working as a designer at desegno ltd., where he oversaw graphic design, Web, video, and music production primarily for clients in the apparel and beauty industries such as Jill Stuart and Moët&Chandon. In 2009, he joined DRAWING AND MANUAL, where he handles work in a growing number of creative fields including corporate VI, promotional visuals for television programs, and sound design, and deepens his commitment to typography daily.
小林祐介 アートディレクター
1979年、兵庫県生まれ。ファッションデザインを専攻し、ラルフローレンに勤務。その後、音楽業界へ転身し、Clubを中心にライブハウスやツアー、フェスティバルなどにおけるサウンドエンジニアとして活動する。様々なアーティストの音や感性に触れる一方で、自らも創作・実験を繰り返し、表現の場を模索していく。2006年よりdesegno ltd.にデザイナーとして勤務。JILL STUARTやMoët&Chandonなど、主にアパレルや美容業界のグラフィックデザイン・Web・映像・音楽を制作。2009年よりDRAWING AND MANUALに参画。企業VI、TVプログラムのプロモーションヴィジュアル、サウンドデザインなど、クリエイティブの領域を拡張しつつ、日々タイポグラフィーへの傾倒を深めている。
Yutaka Obara Director
Born in Kanagawa in 1981 and graduated from Keio University in 2004. He started his career at the CM production, Spoon Inc.
While working for a free CM/Film director Hisashi Kikuchi, he found himself interested in expressions in interactivity and started working as a web designer at TYO Inc., designing web sites and web contents. He joined Drawing and Manual Inc. in 2011, producing and dircting company and product’s concept movies and commercial films.
小原 穣 ディレクター
1981年神奈川県生まれ。2004年慶応義塾大学卒業後、CM制作会社である株式会社スプーンに入社。その後、フリーのCM・映像ディレクター菊池久志氏に師事。映像業界を経験していく中で、インタラクティブな表現に興味を持ち、株式会社ティー・ワイ・オーに入社。WEBデザイナーとして、サイトのデザインやコンテンツ制作に携わる。2011年ドローイングアンドマニュアル株式会社に参画。企業や商品のコンセプト厶ービー、CM映像の制作・ディレクションを務める。
